I am many feathers, color and style,
Jokes about me make children smile.
I am special, to be sure,
For annual events, I must cure.
When I am eaten, I am, all bone…
Without family and friends, I am alone.
For children to remember, I am the symbol…
To forget is most ungrateful!
When I am present, there are always pies,
But to give thanks, with me, makes one wise.
I am bred for pounds and size,
When stuffed and roasted, I am a prize.
I am, you see, the ultimate sacrifice…
To give up one’s life, for others, is the price.
