• Riddle #8, What Am I?

Riddle Me This…What Am I?
Adam, God made out of dust,
But thought it best to make me first,
So I was made before now,
To answer God’s most holy plan,
A living being I became,
And Adam gave to me my name,
I from his presence then withdrew,
And more of Adam I never knew.
I did my Maker’s law obey,
Nor never went from it astray,
Thousands of miles I go in fear,
But seldom on earth appear,
For purpose wise which God did see,
He put a living soul in me,
A soul from me God did claim,
And took from me the soul had fled,
I was the same as when first made,
And without hands or feet or soul,
I travel on from pale to pale,
I labor hard by day, by night,
To fallen man I give great light,
Thousands of people, young and old,
Will by my death great light behold,
No right or wrong can I conceive,
The Scripture I cannot believe
Although my name therein is found,
They are to me an empty sound,
No fear of death doth trouble me,
Real happiness I’ll never see,
To Heaven I shall never go, or to Hell below.
Now when these lines you slowly read
Go search your Bible with all speed,
For that my name is written there,
I do honestly to you declare,
“The answer is one word.”

• Visual Story of Easter

Timeless Message of the Good News of Easter is what the Gospel is all about. I have been sharing this message since the early 60’s and the gospel facts of the message has never changed. I have have heard many presentations and have seen many visual representations of this message, but the message facts remain constant. Here is a visual aid the has helped me share this good news. You can rehearse the facts or weave them around other aspects of a message or story. Here is one way I have told the Easter story…
• Growing Up Latte

Latte has made it to 5 pounds in three months, more than doubled her weight. She is a Maltepoo, part Maltese and part Poodle. Life for her has been good, she loves people and people love her. When I take her for a walk, people always stop and admire this snow ball with four legs. Why, I have had people actually stop their car just to admire her. Of course, Latte loves any attention, so she just gets very excited and bounces around gleefully.
You might think it is interesting to know that we have another dog…
• My “Kool” Birthday Gift

Dear Kids,
Just wanted tell you kids, “thanks again” for the great birthday present that you got me this year. I have been going every week, so this week will be four weeks, that I will have gone to get my One-on-One Coaching session at the Apple Store in Brea. I am amazed how much there is to know and just how much I did not know about my incredible Mac. I have had three different teachers, so far, each one was helpful. I learned a bunch each time I have gone.
All this to say, that I am grateful for your thoughtful gift, I am trying to really be disciplined about not missing a week, if possible, but I am sure that in the months to come, I may have a problem. Although, I go every Wednesday, I know can change days and change stores, if there is one near the area I travel. This is a very “kool” way for me to learn, “visual and hands on.” I really like it. Thanks kids! You’re the best. A few of my friends are envious that I have this gift and they do not! Uhuh! Ha!
Love ya, Dad
• Kidology-Button Man

Yep, I became a Kidology Button Man. This week I traveled all the way to San Diego (100 miles) just to get my own Kidology Button. I found out the Karl Bastian, the Kidologist, was going to be at the Children’s Pastors’ Conference, so I arranged to see him for lunch and hang out with him for the day. He thought that I came to see him, but really I wanted to get my own button.
So what is the big deal about the button?
• This Doggie Is Not For Sale

This Funny Fun Foto is my daughter Kristen dressed up for a school Halloween Party Day. She is a teacher at Ocean View Elementary School in Whittier. How much is this doggie in the window? I sure hope this doggie is not for sale. It was a fun costume for her. All the kids and staff sure enjoyed her outfit, but they kept offering her a bone.
• Friend in Need, Friend Indeed

I do not always hear the results of my ministry. Then again, out of the blue, I do. Recently, I received this encouraging email from Debby DeBernardy. I remember staying in her home during a ministry tour in Phoenix, AZ.
It has been years since we have had any contact, but this is what she said…
• What is Senioritis?

Well, on the occasion of my birthday this month, I began to ponder the implications of being sixty-five years old. I always thought that anyone who was sixty five was very old, like ancient. Now that I have arrived at this magic number, I am not so sure. I still like to think that Sharon and I are just growing older gradually, with no urgency. But all this antiquity has come fast enough. I guess I am learning that when you get 65 a lot of things change. Senioritis used to mean a state of anxiety that Seniors in High School or College felt when they were about to graduate and were anxious about their marital status.
Now, Senioritis has another meaning.
• India-Web Update

This week was the first formal meeting of the India Web at Whittier Area Community Church. This initial meeting of “select” friends that have encouraged me in going to India. It was our purpose to define the purpose of this support group and discuss the scope of our monthly involvement, before seeking to enlarge the group to our congregation. It was discussed that we cannot respond to all the needs of India, but since I just returned from a Kid Mission trip last summer, we could focus our attention on helping “select” missionaries as they attempt to reach and teach children in India. So, the following is our revised purpose for the India Web:
The India Web is, first or all, our church’s support network for our Missionary interests in India. However, this network could be expanded to include other persons, churches and organizations that provide a strong “connection” with those ministries that also focus on children of India. Secondarily, this network would try to “connect” American sources and resources with known and proven ministries in India that will effect the next generation of leaders…children.
Participation in this network includes…
• Kid Helper Resources, LLC
We have formed a new Resource Company called Kid Helper Resources, LLC. My Board of Directors has authorized me to relinquish my involvement with the daily task of making of our products. I have been struggling with how to do this for some time. This last summer we finally came up with a plan to start a new company. So for several months now, we have been working behind the scenes to figure out how to implement this plan.
We were advised to help form a company that would manufacture, market and distribute all the creative resources that Creative Children’s Ministries has been associated with for the last 35 years. What this means for me is that I will no longer be in the product business, per se, with my daily time. The products that we have been known for will now be transferred to a new company called Kid Helper Resources, LLC for their exclusive distribution, with all the rights and privileges associated with a for-profit company.
So today, we are announcing the new Executive Director for Kid Helper Resources, LLC…(drum roll, please)
