• Papa, Pro Babysitter!

I just want to go on record that I am becoming a Pro Babysitter! Almost once a week, I get to have a little time with my granddaughter, Madison, my Kevin’s daughter. Madison is now 15 months old, and looks just like her dad. Our whole family enjoys taking turns watching Madison, so Sarah and Kevin can do their irregular shift work. You can believe it…
• “Tijuana Blitz” Includes Kids!

One of the largest One-Day Mission Trips organized by the Bread of Life Church in Torrance, CA was done this Oct 6th. Over 150 of us loaded three buses and ventured into Tijuana to visit four venues…a Tijuana Blitz, if you will. One venue was the La Mesa Jail in Tijuana, the other three were churches, that we have visited before. However, this time…
• Remove Your Shoes, Please!

Our team (of three) was getting ready to embark on our Kid Mission to Pakistan. Our missions pastor arranged for us to be indoctrinated into some aspects of the Eastern culture to prepare us for our trip. So the day came, for the meeting and we showed up at the lady’s home. The other ladies had already arrived before me and were seated at the dining room table as I was greeted at the door and invited in. At the table she explained that we were going to talk awhile about Pakistani culture, then she arranged a tour of a Muslim Mosque. Afterwards, then we would visit a Middle-Eastern Market to gather some insights into the foods we might be eating in Pakistan.
“The first lesson,” she began, “is one that Barney failed upon entering my house.”
• Oh, How They Prayed!

“Come and help us.” The Lord led us to some remote villages in India, beyond where the paved road ends. Not many outsiders go there, it is just too far off the trail. No American evangelists have ever been there. So when someone specifically comes to minister to the children, can you imagine just how special that was to the village and the children? Everyone in the village knew we were there and no one stayed home. They all came out to see “the tall white guy from America.” I have never been so well received, like a celebrity, even before I did anything with them. The enthusiasm and excitement was very contagious. I will always remember how happy the children were to see me.
• Barney Gets Good Report

Barney’s “impromtu” children’s rally at Seminary compound near Vizag.
“This was a very special month for the Children. The children of Schools in Mumbai, Gandhidham, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh were thrilled by the visit of Rev. Barney Kinard, a specialist in Children’s Ministry. He, along with his puppet friend “Barnacle,” stole the kids’ hearts and we watched them clap with glee. In a very simple manner the children were told that they were the most loved by God. Barney told the kids, just like the five fingers on our hand, there were five words to remember when they were afraid and that was ‘I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU.’ The kids kept repeating these words when they were afraid, days after the program.”
“Rev. Barney Kinard who came to help with our children’s ministry was a blessing to all our children’s ministry works. He visited in different places of India and encouraged our ministry to children among the schools, orphanage and seminaries. We are praying for him to come again for children ministry trainings.”

• What is the India Web?

The India Web is a network for those interested in India. We will seek to find those who have been there, those who know someone who has been there, those that want to go there, those that want to help others to go there and those who have available resources needed to help India.
The India Web is trying to make strong connections with Christians to encourage prayer, training, resources and support to help Godly national leaders reach and teach the lost in India, especially the next generation of children and youth (50% of the population is under the age of 20).
• Two Parts Make A Whole!

God used this unlikely couple to win the hearts of the 4000 children in India. What fun we had conducting over 30 programs together. However, all this fun could have been over in an instant. That was my first thought, “the trip is over.” I had been protecting my friend Barnacle from all the airline baggage handlers by making deliberate efforts to hand carry his case (with him in it, of course) on every flight. On the larger planes it was not a problem. However, as the in-country planes got smaller, it was more of a problem. Barnacle, despite his youthful appearance was made in 1972, and with his age has become quite fragile. You can imagine my shock when I woke up early to prepare for the day’s five speaking assignments, to find…

• What is A Kidhelper?

I have been asked this question many times. It deserves some explanation. There are many who have vision to help children. As we look around at what others are doing with children, we see much activity focused on the various needs of children (i.e., schools, publishing, camps, churches, food distribution, sponsorship, etc.). While we agree with programs that meet real needs of children, and we are supportive of anything that helps children, we know we cannot do everything. I have been called to be a Children’s Evangelist, whose main calling is share the life-changing message of the gospel with children, just like my neighbor did for me, when I was nine years old. Of all the things that can be done for kids, I believe that the most strategic thing I can do for kids is to help them come to know and love Jesus.
• Christmas Magic Workshop

I attended a Magic Workshop, taught by David Ginn, last weekend. I was hoping to find some new resources for upcoming shows in December, thinking that my magic act could use some fresh material. I am always looking for and trying to add something magical that kids would be interested in. Well, I was not disappointed.
